Couldn t resist & besides I needed to get you attention.

This is an important topic. Something very few salon & spa owners like to think about & sometimes even admit. And this can be a sore topic.

There s a risk me sounding like a penny pinching neurotic.

I m not!

Rather I just want to make sure that YOU get the best return every single penny you spend your salon or spa.

So here s what I m talking about.

PLEASE think very carefully BEFORE you spend any more money salon equipment salon furniture or salon supplies.

Why?

Well…It may be a poor place to spend your money. You need to ask yourself this.

Are you SURE is the HIGHEST RETURN place to spend your money?

I mean you wouldn t want to spend your money something which didn t give you the highest return… Would you?

Where a LOT beauty salons & spas make mistakes is spending WAY to much money the buying the best salon supplies salon equipment & salon furniture.

Money that could be much better invested elsewhere. In particular acquiring NEW clients through marketing.

Whether you have the best couches best lamps best towels & best hand creams is FAR less important than you might think.

YES you need to provide outstanding treatments & a great environment. And NO you certainly don t want to look cheap .

BUT here’s something I discovered many years ago.

There’s an old saying “build a better mousetrap & they’ll beat a path to your door”.

It’s wrong!

Very wrong!

It should say “Build a better mousetrap sit around waiting then go BROKE!”

You can have the best products best salon or spa furnishings nail salon furniture the latest hottest beauty gadgets the world & still have NO clients!

The two do not go hand hand.

So BEFORE you invest another penny the ‘nice stuff’.

THINK!

How much does cost you to acquire a new client (you need to know this number if you don t let me know).

Most salons & spa can acquire a new client for £5 to £10. Maybe not the best clients (they need you to work a little harder BUT they are worth more too :))…

How did I arrive at that number. Well you simply divide your marketing spend over a particular period by the number new clients you acquired through that spend.

What would you rather have?

That brand spanking new massage chair with all the latest gizmos for £500 OR ONE HUNDRED new clients all ready to spend £100 a year with you???

Sure that massage chair might milk a little more money out your existing clients BUT 100 new client spending JUST £100 eache over a year would be worth £10 000.00 (not far off $20 000.00) to you.

Interesting trade off ha…

And s something that can give you a HUGE advantage over your competition.

The moment you switch your mindset to carefully weigh up where you spend your money where will give you the highest return you can quickly acquire the clients your competition struggles to get…
